After Edie discovers a male corpse in her shower, her finicky landlord (Joseph Kearns, Mr. Wilson from Dennis the Menace) threatens to break her lease. Leaving Lt. Jacobi to crack wise and console Edie, Peter Gunn pursues the killers, so she won't have an excuse to move in with him.
When Edie Hart finds a dead body in the shower of the apartment she's been given while hers is being painted, she does the two most reasonable things: 1. calls her boyfriend Peter Gunn, Private Investigator and 2. faints. While waiting for Lt. Jacoby of homicide to arrive Pete finds out what he can about the corpse. After discovering a name under his watch, Pete goes to investigate while Jacoby looks over the crime scene. In the meantime Edie has to deal with her obnoxious landlord Mr. Bartell (Joseph Kearns) who is threatening to evict her. Pete uncovers some interest twists and turns, Jacoby tells him there's a good chance Edie could get blamed but our Man for Hire has no intention of giving up.
Review - Edie Finds a Corpse Plenty of addresses of both suspects and victims in this episode as Pete goes in circles to find the murderers and they end up very close to where he started. Extortion, murder, and traveling about chasing clues are events visited by our PI. The cast is well represented by some familiar faces of television from the era, faces that went on to roles we all enjoyed. Not knowing Edie has taken a temporary apartment in her building, the bad guys perpetrate a crime and then hide. Pete has to follow all his leads, unfortunately, before he nails the criminals. Follow his exploits around town meeting some characters along the way, helping him make progress finding his quarry.
First part is sort of madcap as Pete races around here and there trying to find Edie after her distressed phone call. Seems there was more than soap in her shower when she opened it. Instead there was a dead guy. Now if only Pete can get to Edie's right apartment since hers is being painted. So who's the dead guy and how did he end up in her shower since the room was all locked up. Looks like Pete and Jacoby have their work cut out for them.

Happily, there're several glamour babes in this episode, including Miss Albright. So, guys, don't miss it. But catch actor Bill "I'm only the painter" Idelson swabbing the wall in the wrong color. He may play a dummy here, but in real life he was a highly successful TV writer. Check out his credits that include MASH and The Odd Couple, among many others. And what about the old lady artist. I guess the cops won't be asking her to do criminal likenesses any time soon. (Too bad she's uncredited among the credits.) Good to see veteran baddie Myron Healey picking up a payday doing what he did best.

Anyway, some good snappy editing and usual series trademarks make this an engaging half- hour.
