Who are your parents and where are they from?: Madison Ashby JR and Inez Ashby Miller Dad is fro Williamsberg Va- moms from Bufferd South Carolina

Tell us something about yourself.: I am an Son. Proud of our family. We grew up in harlem in the Sixtes and migrated to the Bronx by 72. I attended the high school of art and design from 72-76.
Attended the state university if NY from 77-79.
Returned to NY in 80 to complete my BFA and MFA at the School of Visual Arts.
I began to work as an illustrator right out of school. In the mid 80s o became the coordinator of an after school art program the Childrens Art Carnival where I began to teach. My mission was to share my experiance with those with similar goals to pursuit goals in the creative world as artist.
My work has appeared in major publications, I have been a courtroom artist. Created graphic novels , book cover, album and CD covers. I have taught at the college level for the last 20 something years. In 2000, I became Chair of the illustration department at the college for creative studies in Detroit mi, where I live with my wife Maura and my littles Madison (my daughter 8) and my son Matthew (6).
I have recently stepped down from the Chairs possition at the college to get back to my Art and see what God has in store for me. I am blessed to be able to share this with you, my family.
